from under houses & across fog-filled streets
& rising swiftly as the snow whites
from under rocks & red-faced moon-lit creeks

winter I won’t miss you
’til August’s love-stung sweat-soaked heat
I’ve got too much love for green shoots
unfurling between my fingers & my feet

I’ve got no more time for the internet
when all the birds & bees are out there having sex
over flowers so bright they hurt my eyes
after months of grey & ice-filled skies
syrup flows down the mountain-sides
& the forest grows bright with sounds & colors complex
